„The Art Of Worshipping“ is - and most likely will remain - The Church Of The Blue Nun's debut and only album. Recorded in acoustic lineup in an old church right in the heart of the city of Fuerth in Germany. Atmospheric songs, quaintly arranged with a feel for the right dynamics and arrangements. Thanks to the distinct songwriting of Mäkkelä and van Velzen and their brillant sidemen Tobias Stutz (cello), Jens Petzold (upright bass) and Stefan Nast-Kolb (accordion) the whole album can keep it's intensity throughout.
One beauty of an album between indie-folk, americana and chamber music tinged lofi pop. Mastered by Toni Hinterholzinger in the studio of the Nuernberg academy of music, one of the most prestigious mastering facilities in the south of Germany.

I think this is one of the finest pieces of music I ever had the luck to record and perform. Listening to it today reminds me of some of the most intense moments I had recording and especially now there is an overall sadness to it knowing that Stefan Nast-Kolb, no less than a blessed accordion & cello player, has passed away late 2017. There might come a time Robin and me will get together again for new material and maybe even shows. You'll never know.
